Our Aims
The APPG for Public Sector Efficiency is a cross-party forum dedicated to improving the way public money is spent. We create space for research, ideas, and the exchange of best practice in procurement and efficiency.
Our aim is to foster collaboration and continuous learning across the public sector, drawing on expert insights to shape an annual programme of research, events, and discussions.
Mission
The UK public sector spends more than £550 billion every year across central and local government, the NHS, and other vital services. Each pound directly shapes outcomes that affect citizens’ lives.
Our mission is to ensure every pound delivers maximum impact — securing better value for taxpayers while improving outcomes for communities and the economy.
Our Strategy
Founded in June 2025 with support from Efficio Consulting, the APPG brings together Parliamentarians, public sector leaders, and private sector experts.
Through seminars, roundtables, conferences, and publications we share learning and best practice, while developing training and resources for colleagues across the sector.
Our research will focus on practical solutions to the efficiency challenge — from collaboration between authorities and stronger supplier relationships, to driving social value, improving contract management, and achieving more with limited resources.
